Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky - the first Russian composer whose music made a splash on the international scene, wrote many classic works. Date of birth 05/07/1840, at Votkinsk, Russia. Originally the family was like Tchaikovsky from Ukraine, his relatives were Orthodox nobles of Kremenchug County. His father, Ilya Petrovich composer was an engineer by profession and the son of Peter Fedorovich Chaika village Nikolaevka near Poltava. Pyotr Ilyich family was the second child. Music appreciated and loved to listen to the parents of Peter, his mother was able to sing and play the piano, and the house was a mechanical organ.
His education started in Peter music classes in 1861, and after the reform it was the St. Petersburg Conservatory where he studied composition class.
After graduating from the conservatory he earned a silver medal for writing cantatas at Friedrich Schiller ode "To Joy". Later, he moved to Moscow, where he was offered a job in the newly created position of professor at the Conservatory classes of free composition, theory, harmony and instrumentation.
